I keep calling friends, family and even those who I met on several occasions seeking help for those who having done everything possible, still live in poverty. Only one of a million of those I contacted show love. And I keep asking myself why we as Christians show no compassion for the church and humanity. We have no love for one another. Some of us are very loaded with cash but nothing moves us to reach out to the needy in our society and the world at large. Even those outside of our faith show much love than we the so called Christians. We love to spend on what we will benefit from. Our motive is “If we ain’t gonna get anything in return then we are sorry.” and this is a tragedy. The Buddhist, the Muslim, those who practice scientology and any other religion practice the act of love more than the Christian. Their faith is not built on love, ours is, but we despise love. This is really sad. I walk in the street each day and I watch people who are able but can’t find a job, naked and are homeless, intelligent but don’t have anyone to help pay for their tuition. But yet, there are people who have more than enough in this world who are not willing to help. Please let me announce to you that God cannot be mocked. On that day your riches will not save you . Don’t think doing it for your fellow human being means nothing. You do it unto God as you do it unto him.

Matthew 25:31 – 46
“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory.
All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.
For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?
When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?
When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?
“The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’
“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’
“They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’
“He will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’
“Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

Some of you think it is your tithe and your offerings that God needs. Please don’t be fooled. The truth of the matter is that most churches don’t even understand the language love and they don’t even have the heart to show compassion. So if you think giving greatly to a church is all God require of you then please read the words of Christ again. He didn’t say you didn’t give to the church. He said , ‘For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’ It will marvel you that God will not have mercy on you that day because of your lack of compassion. The work of God doesn’t lie. Apostle Paul wrote to the church of Galatia these words:

Galatians 6:7 – 10
Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

I’m glad scriptures didn’t say “to some people” but “to all people”. All means All regardless the religious beliefs because we are created in the image of God. Paul continued ‘especially to those who belong to the family of believers’. If I may ask, How many people have you fed in your church and in your community? Who have you cloth in your church and in your community? Have you provided shelter for the homeless you share the same belief with? What of those who are of different beliefs?  Do you reach out out to the poor on the street? How many souls have you won with your act of kindness? If NO then how better are you than the unbeliever?

There’s a scripture in the Bible that changed my life. God gave me a revelation on this scripture and from that day forward my thinking changed. You’ll be surprised that some people will give much but not inherit any reward in the kingdom of heaven because they’ve already receive their reward on earth. And some will also sow sparingly and receive their reward in heaven and on earth. The Apostle Paul wrote:

2 Corinthians 9:6 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.

This scripture is one that has two conditions surrounding it.

  1. If you sow because you want to reap something then your reward is In the earth.
  2. If you sow with a good heart, not because you want something back but to help humanity, having no intention of getting a pay back then your reward is In the riches of His glory in heaven. This will also manifest in your life on earth as well.

Most of us give simply because of what we can get in return. Love is unconditional. Remember the words of Jesus. The greatest leader of all who is Himself love. He said in Matthew 5:7 that Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. What He means is that if you fail to show mercy don’t expect mercy, even on that day when we will all stand before His judgment seat. If you fail to show compassion don’t expect compassion.

Luke 6:30 – 38
Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you. “If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even ‘sinners’ love those who love them. And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even ‘sinners’ do that. And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even ‘sinners’ lend to ‘sinners,’ expecting to be repaid in full. But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

God doesn’t lie my friend. The church was not mentioned in all these scriptures so if you think that ignoring that brother on the street who is hungry, that sister in your house who needs money to pay her bills and even the family member who is sick, but you give greatly to the church then you are joking. It is better you don’t give at all because God will not acknowledge it.

1 Timothy 5:7 – 8
Give the people these instructions, too, so that no one may be open to blame.
If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

This goes to those of you who don’t have love even for your family. I tell you the truth, it is better you change your mind set and your actions. You can’t escape the wrath of the creator if you don’t speak the language of His Kingdom. Christ said this is the new commandment I give you, that you should love one another as I have loved you. That Men may know that indeed you are my disciples.

Another set of people who will never go unpunished are those who own organizations, those who award contracts and those who own shops. I tell you the truth, if someone works for you and you refuse to pay him or her the deserved wages, you will account to God.

You will reap what you sow, whether good or bad.
